Met Gala

Well the Met Gala in New York certainly raised a few eyebrows in the fashion department. To be honest, it's such a fashion crazy evening anyway, I think this is one of the rare few moments where you can wear anything and get away with it. I have picked out a few of my favourites...and here they are.


Only Beyoncé could pull this number off, with her amazing derrière and her stunning smile. This Givenchy Couture purple sheered corset is really eye-catching. What a MILF. 



Marc Jacobs. Of course I had to put this laced shirt dress in here, it's fantastic! He has even managed to colour co-ordinate his black and white beard to the outfit, perfect. Apparently, he said he "didn't want to be boring" which is perfectly understandable, considering the lack of choice that men have compared to women when dressing up. 



Emma Stone looks gorgeous in this Lanvin dress. It is just enough to attract attention, without going overboard. Teamed with basic accessories and natural make-up, it's flirty and fun.



Carey Mulligan seems to be able to sport any trend, she can pull off coy and sweet, with floaty florals and here she pulls of edgy and sharp, with this metallic Prada number. Never did I think short hair could have so many varied styles, but she proves me wrong.



Dianna Agron (Glee) looked stunning in this emerald green Carolina Herrea gown.She teamed this low-cut beauty with a Judith Leiber gold clutch and minimal jewellery. I think this one might be my favourite, it is stylish, sexy, not too much, but just enough.

Totally Tropical

Make room for these statement colours and prints in your wardrobe! I first took heed of the new tropical trend when I saw Jessie J clad in the River Island tropical gear (and boy could she pull it off!). She teamed matching trousers with the blazer I have picked for my tropical wishlist, but if it's a bit much for you, do one or the other. 

I love these RI wedges (mainly because wedges are just so easy to walk in), but if the colours are a bit too much for you, they have PLENTY more wedges for you to pine after.

What are your thoughts on this tropical trend? Do you like this fruity fashion, or are you going to stick to your pastels and Aztec?

Spring Dresses

Spring is on it's way! I have been obsessed with checking my weather app everyday and it promises that the weather is going to get better and getter. So, in order to prepare for this promised sunshine, I must buy lots of lovely little light dresses. 

Keeping my eyes peeled for light cami style dresses, I noticed that a lot of the material that River Island use for dresses is quite thick, too thick for me. However, I found this little number (6) and for only £16 as well! I have it in black, but the actual colour of this dress is very pink. It's so cute and can be worn with anything!

My favourite out of all of my picks is the Topshop skater cami slip, but for £68 you would have to wear the life out of it. The mix of colours are a perfect reminder that spring and summer are round the corner, but the style and material of the dress mean it can be worn all through the year.

Grunge

90s grunge is returning to the streets. This excites me greatly and I cannot wait to delve into the depths of my wardrobe and fish out my collection of scruffy baggy t-shirts and heavy jewellery. After a long and lustful browse on the internet, I managed to narrow my wish list to my top 6 picks. 
All Saints is all about the grunge look, so my first stop was their website. I find All Saints a bit out of my price range, but these two items seemed reasonable and All Saints never go out of fashion. 

Ear cuffs are everywhere, I may have popped into Topshop and nabbed myself a little one, but if you are more daring than me then scoot along to ASOS and check out their wide range of ear cuffs. The bigger and bolder the better!

Crosses

1. Granted, it may not be the weather for these denim hot pants just yet, but that's what 80 dernier tights were created for! These shorts from UO are perfect for the lead up to Summer and denim shorts are always handy to have in your wardrobe.

2. Crosses have literally taken over the jewellery scene and it's a cheap way to be on top of the new craze. Perfect excuse to go accessory shopping (which sidesteps any tantrums as jewellery fits...every time!)

3. Had to add a splash of colour to this ensemble and I loved the subtle cosmic cross on this t-shirt.

4. I cannot wait to get my hands on this cami tomorrow. This would go perfect with a small leather jacket teamed with tights and some bright lipstick.

5. Only £6?! Another ASOS bargain! These can be worn all the same finger for a bit of statement bling...if not it's always good to have two spare rings. Just incase.

What are your thoughts on crosses taking over? I for one am excited for the return of 90s grunge and this is just one step closer.

Going Out

Today I stumbled upon Topshops "going out" range, and I couldn't help but do a post about it. I am venturing back to Liverpool tomorrow and going out there is quite different from going out in Aix en Provence. For starters, heels are a must in Liverpool and therefore these grey suede peep toe platforms are a must-have this coming Spring for me. Scrolling up and down the collection (numerous times) the abundance of peach and pastel colours was evident, therefore this bright pink lipstick is a necessary purchase as it adds a splash of colour to these ensembles.

Liverpool's Topshop is HUGE and I have already picked out my top ten pieces I am going to have to try on when I get back.

Fashion Mode

It seems to be all about the Aztec/Egyptian this season, which I am not complaining about at all. In most wardrobes there are a few cheeky Aztec tops/dresses/bangles hanging about, waiting for their time to rise again. Of course, this Sunday was spent on Ebay, quickly snapping up Aztec prints and only costing me a slight fortune.

1. As much as I love this maxi dress, I fear it is one of those Topshop items, where EVERYONE has it. I may have to save my money for something less obvious. But isn't she a beauty? This would go perfectly with bright red lips and some extra confidence.

2. Bright colours and powerful patterns scream sun! A tan would match this perfectly...

3. My love for this Topshop Cleopatra Tee will never end, I love a good baggy t-shirt with some leggings or skinny jeans. Comfy, stylish and affordable. 

4. What a total adventure backpack! When I saw this, I wanted to whack it on, put on my trainers and go exploring like I was 10 again. 

5. It's actually refreshing to see some colour when I am window shopping (online...) and this reminded me that the sun (and the beach) is on it's way.
