Weekend Wishlist #001

1 2 3 4 5 6

My NY resolution was to take better care of my (ever ageing) skin, by ex-foliating and moisturising as often as I can. I have heard nothing but good things about Soap and Glory. (I already own a cheeky few things in their make-up range). So, if I am to stick to my resolution, well I guess I will just have to buy it, won't I?

OPI nail polish is a god-send, my friend has this colour and it was so smooth I thought they were either fake nails, or she had treated herself to a manicure. It's such a beautiful colour, in fact, I am going to borrow it tonight.

Bags under the eyes are one of the many beautiful things I inherited. I have tried tea bags, I have tried sleeping for over 12 hours (most days) but nothing seems to work. This Benefit Erase paste is something I try out every time I go to the airport (come on, we all do it). It's going to be my next purchase I think, I will let you guys know what I think.

Topshop, Topshop, Topshop...oh how I love thee. Topshop can do no wrong in my eyes, and these pink candy denim hotpants are proof! Just look at them.

When I last had my haircut, my lovely hairdresser put this in my hair without me even realising. All of a sudden I could smell delicious raspberries mixed with bubblegum. My hair was thick (huge in fact) and since I usually have quite limp hair, I was pleased with the results.

Candy, candy and more candy. This is the perfect belt from ASOS, to be matched with floaty summer dresses or to brighten up the trillions of little black dresses that we all have.

Friday 20 January 2012

Oh goodness, this IS exciting.

I have been obsessed with blogs for a while now, and thought, what better than to start my own.

My first post is going to be about the amazing movie 'Shame'. My friends suggested trying out the cinema in Aix, so I pulled on my winter jacket, ventured out of my cosy halls of accommodation and paid a fine amount of money to see what everyone has been raving about.

The film follows the trials and tribulations of a charming, yet lonely bachelor, Brandon (Michael Fassbender) and the complicated relationship he endures with his sister (Carey Mulligan) and highlights Brandons relentless thirst for sexual highs, troubled pasts and encounters.

After the first minute, the film had gripped me so tightly, I totally forgot where or who I was. All I could focus on was the intensity and emotions that shone behind Fassbender's eyes while he lies in bed, for over 2 minutes.

No spoilers (I actually HATE Facebook for status and spoilers, the amount of times X Factor was RUINED for me) but the movie itself was gripping, daring, thought-provoking and all round brilliant.

Steve McQueen has done himself proud, with a brilliant cast. However, I warn you now, the film follows the highs and lows of a sex addict...therefore...do NOT go see it on a first date/with your parents/your best friend who you fancy but shouldn't.

Another interesting fact; the movie was a 12 in France. A 12? You see Fassbender's willy. That's all I am saying.
